Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Brutally Brilliant
After 5 years and a change in record labels (from Roadrunner to Metal Blade), Immolation were able to create their sophomore album that took extremity to a whole new level. "Here in After" is a landmark album that isn't all brawns, all thanks to the dissonant guitar rhythms of Bob Vigna and Thomas Wilkinson. The riffs are rather refreshing by enhancing the band's dense atmosphere, depending whether they're slow and plodding ("Here in After"), bizarre ("Nailed to Gold") or all-out overwhelming ("I ...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - TECHNICAL RIFFS A-PLENTY HERE!
This is the 2nd Immolation album I purchased. At first, I didnt like this one all that much, I dont know what is was... but it's grown on me in the last 5 months (I got in back in early Feb. 2006). I've always liked the 1st track, "Nailed to Gold" & the title track "Here in After," but now some of the others are getting good all the sudden. While it didnt immediately catch me like their masterpeice of a debut "Dawn of Possession" did, its a good album & you can hear that signature Immolation style ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - here in after
This is a taste of the early immolation.ROSS sounds great plus original drummer here.Very good.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - christ's cage
Immolation's second is proudly and defiantly metal. Vigna and Wilkinson spit out massive riffs with a furious dissonant edge as Ross Dolan bellows. My favorite song, by far is Christ's cage, particularly when everything briefly stops and Ross goes "BUH". Percussion has a free jazz flavor with a great deal of Lombardoesque fills, especially in how Smilowski rides the toms. Craig does sort of a running multi-textured blast with heavy emphasis on hypnotic cymbal rhythms. Songwriting is some of the strongest ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - BEST IMMOLATION CD IN MY OPINION
I love all of the IMMOLATION CD'S but this is the unholy grail to me. I listen every day,it never leaves the CD player. Its brutal and even melodic at times which is cool. This band literally puts bands like morbid angel, deicide, suffocation to shame. Trust me ,pick it up if you can find it. P.S CHECK OUT THE STORE AT officialabyssrecords.com,ITS ALL METAL,No r/b,dance,or rap crap
