Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - THE MOST IPORTANT DEATH METAL ALBUM IN HISTORY
As Americans we want to beleive that the USA is the father of death metal! But its not although we have the best and greatest bands pioneer bands like death morbid angel obituary and many more but its ENGLAND and NAPALM DEATH to be precise that are the fathers of DEATH METAL!In 1987 whene their 1st album came out Scum with todays standards its not death metal but what they call and is grindcore! in the USA the same year DEATH releases scream bloody gore!We Americans want to beleive that deaths debut ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - There best!!!!
To me this is my favorite release from Napalm Death and IMO there best. I was never a big fan of the early work, but when this album came out it hooked me. Buy it now!!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Solid, but uninspired
This has all the hallmarks to be a fine death metal album. It has a great Scott Burns production which gives the album a sludgy feel, but it's wasted with mostly bland songs. There are some good riffs and parts here and there, but mostly it sounds fairly generic. It's still a very solid album, just not the be all and end all. 3.5/5

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Grindcore's finest hour!
A masterpiece of brutality and mayhem!! Listening to this will leave you bleeding in a corner begging for more, kinda like being molested by a supermodel with a chainsaw, except better!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Grindcore and Death Metal fans unite !!
Like previous reviewers have said, this release marked a transition from pure Grindcore to "Grindcore-flavoured" death metal for a re-formed Napalm Death. This is probably their first truly accessible title as well, that still held the interest of their Grindcore fans, but also opened the doors to the Death metal crowd. Barney's vocals are amazing and I still feel he is one of the best death metal vocalists out there. The stand-out tracks for me are probably "Suffer the Children", and "Unfit Earth" ...
