I'm rating this CD 5-stars. I've been a fan of Dimmu for just over a year. I purchased their newer CDs first and am going backwards in their career. This is my last acquired CD. ISD, I feel is their weakest work, PEM and DCA are their best! I do love their ability to cross beyond Black Metal, into other Genres, without leaving the envelope of Black. Now... in comes SBD!
Since I've been listening to their newer stuff, over the months, I really noticed the volume and emphasis of the keyboards; ...

Dimmu is by far my favorite black metal band. I have to say that this is one of their best CDs. I am also a fan of Death Cult Armageddon. Both albums have a different feel to them and are excellent in their own right. So I would say they are both number 1. All Dimmu albums are great though! Definitely worth buying.

this album would have to be my third favorite dimmu album. its catchy and heavy. the lyrics and art work are superb. the keyboards take new creative heights on this album. my only beef is the production quality. its actually worse than EDT, which is weird because the quality usually gets better not worse. other than that, its a really good album.

This is actually my first purchase of an older Dimmu Borgir cd. This work didn't dissapoint me at all. First of all it was the first cd to have Vortex's vocals, which I'm a big fan of his vocals. Shagrath sounds very powerful as always. Tjodalv drumming sounds good. The guitar are very fast and strong. Nothing bad about the album.

If I had to name the best Dimmu Borgir with keyboards, I'd have to say it's a tie between this and PEM. The keyboard parts fit in the songs better on Puritanical, but the songs on this one are really great. They didn't use too many clean vocals on this one either. All the tracks on this are as chilling sounding as Emperor's IX Equalibrium, and that's a great symphonic metal album. Don't pass this one up.
