Editorial Review:
Album Description: Following up their debut, "Midnattens Widunder", the Finnish Finntroll unleash yet another fun folk/polka/black metal release. As with their debut, this isn't just another black/folk act that take themselves way too seriously. Just the opposite...these guys are just having a good time and playing a few different styles of music they enjoy. in doing so, they have actually separated themselves from the endless sea of black metal and black/folk acts, creating something that is actually worth listening to. A rare feat for modern black metal hybrid bands.

C'mon now! Black polka metal? Oh lord this is so Spinal Tap it's not even funny, except it is funny. Hilarious in fact, but I'm not quite sure that was the intention of the band. To their credit Fintroll is some of the silliest metal I've ever heard and I've heard a lot of silly metal. To make the experience complete don't forget your accordion (which they use on several songs along with bells and gayflute) and be sure to wear your elf costume. You know, the one with the pointy shoes with the bells ...

Finntroll are one of the most bizarre metal bands in the genre today. Their musical qualities are pure talent, and no one is going to argue the fact that Finntroll are quite 'serious' in their music making ability. Jaktens Tid was Finntroll's first release with Century Media records in 2001. The band has incorporated the use of accordians, flutes, and other folk instruments to play a style of 'humpa' simply known as Troll Metal.
Jaktens Tid has one of my favorite instrumental intro's with ...

I'm sure you know by now, Finntroll adds massive Pokla elements to Black Metal. The thing is, IT WORKS. Extremely well.
I've had this album for about two years and for some reason in the last couple months it has grown on me a lot and became quite addicting. The songs are quite catchy and well... danceable, containing very upbeat rhythms and accordions quite often and sometimes calmer Viking-style brass instruments and keyboards. This is all in addition to crushingly heavy guitars and aggressive ...

I really like this album.
By a Finnish folk metal band called 'Finntroll,' they combine metal with harsh vocals, with a lot of folk, Finnish 'humppa' influence. No, this is not Death metal, its folk metal with harsh vocals. And, its done really well too. The vocals are crisp and nice, there is a lot of melody in this, and not something you'll only listen to once, a lot of 'replay' value.
The songs are very cool, full of energy and power, and really fun to listen to. I found that in some other ...
