Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Interesting stuff, but not remotely metal
I've only recently discovered Finntroll and their crazy Finnish humppa metal sound, but I enjoyed their 2007 album Ur Jordens Djup enough to look into their earlier works. The first one I picked up was 2003's Visor Om Slutet. It may also be the last one I try. Apparently Finntroll's sound has evolved significantly over the past few years, because instead of the crazy "polka metal" I was expecting, Visor Om Slutet doesn't remotely qualify as a metal album at all.

The music on Visor Om ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Epitome ov Trollish!!!
Ok here's the deal, Visor Om Slutet WAS recorded in a cabin in the woods outside ov Helsinki. Troll horn recorded and produced it himself inside the cabin.

From beginning to end this album brings you back to another time and place with the real sounds ov the forests and its inhabitants. This is a Trolls album. So if you think your a Troll like a do then please pick this up.

It's a stoners album, very very down tempoed. I keep this album in my home stereo the entire time. ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Great Set
This is great music and a twist for the Trolls. It is folky yet heavy and I like every song. My only problem with this was that it is too short! I could have really got into a full CD while this is more like an EP. But all that aside, it will be on my play list for quite a while. Highly recommended.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - An Atmospherical, Euphoric, Astronomical, Masterpiece
This album, i picked up when i ordered it with a load of other finntroll albums, and because it was acoustic, i thought id play it first, and i played it over and over and over etc. It is just sucha phenomenal album, because, first uve got the sounds of the forests, which blends the troll elements in, then uve got asfagels dod, which really shows you what the album will be like, because it features a brass horn or sumthing like that and it sounds really trollish.

Then uve got track 3 ...

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - I'm so torn on this issue
The bad thing about this cd is that it's too short, a little over half an hour and there aren't that many songs. There are only 4 songs with lyrics and some other tracks with instruments but there are too many tracks with noises or using the keyboard. That wouldn't have been a problem if they had more songs or just instrumentals using various instruments, naturally. The good thing is the the few songs that they do have are good and they make you want to get up and do a silly folk dance. The lyrics ...
