This was the first Decapitated CD I owned. I was immediately blown away by the albums opener, "The Fury", which starts out with some low, ominous noise before exploding into a furious, unrelenting assault on the ears that does not let up until the very end of the album. But don't get the wrong impression - this is not the pointless, boring noise heard in so many metal bands such as Cannibal Corpse. Every guitar riff, every drum beat is executed with the precision of a brain surgeon. Highly recommended ...

this is a really good death metal cd for both the avid death metal fan and fans of any other kind of metal. this is one of thase cds thats just good f'ing metal. delivering an unrelenting brutality that will have you double tapping your feet all day while the people around you glare at you for the noise your making. and you'll just look at them and smile and go back to that double bass thats still reverberating in your skull. another cool thing about this album is that you can actually tell when the song changes ...

This was my first Decapitated CD. Wow. These songs just come at you like a fierce attack. And what balls to cover a Deicide track and pull it off at the same time. This definetly made me want to pick up their other releases. I gave this five stars for not only the great songs but the brutality at which they come at you. Great job from a band that I hope will be around for a long time to come.

I have to admit that when I first heard Decapitated's sophomore album Nihility I wasn't immediately impressed. They had great musicianship for sure, but the overall sound was sterile. Not wanting to write them off I checked out Negation. My God! This album is incredible. Simply uncompromising death metal. While the positive points of Nihility are heard here - original sounding solos, tight chunk riffs and incredible drumming - everything is just so much heavier and angrier, aided by a great production that really ...

Decapitated reminds me of Vader's The Ultimate Incantation: it's death metal that has no substance. Yeah, the can play fast and the vocals are deep, but the album goes no where. Their previous album, Winds of Creation, was much better and it is the only Decapitated release I would recommend.
When I saw Decapitated live, they were much better than a studio recording.
