Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Demigod
Demigod being Behemoth's 7th studio album and their 2004 releases showcases some of the best blackened death metal that I have heard in a long time. The guitar riffs are insanley heavy, and the singing is dark, deep and powerfull. All the lyrics are included in the booklet along with a lot of photographs of the band and a list of whom plays what on the album. We also get a list of companies that they like for instance Dean Guitars. This reminds me alot of Skinny Puppy in how they mix theatrics and ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Review for My Fellow Bassists + All Lovers of the LOW Notes
Muddy Moe, man, and all my brothers and sisters in bass...I feel your pain daily. I've seen Orion perform live with Behemoth and the sound-crew did him justice, cranking up his volume and tweaking his EQ so that his bass cut through the mix with a greater variety-of-frequencies than heard on the album: His bass didn't just boom--it also roared and growled like a demented grizzly! It sounded superb. Y'all, the man is an excellent bassist and charismatic showman to-boot! He plays with wicked precision ...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - i like it but i have to be blunt to some degree
this album is slightly over hyped and over advertised as the best death metal album of its year.

the first 4 tracks are awesome, but then it blends into my background noise until the last song (in fact i never know when Slaves shall serve come on, it sounds too similar to the previous and next track).

but otherwise the first 4 tracks and the last track are the main article in my opinion, which you can just go to an mp3 store to get those.

but one cool thing about ...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Black metal
This is a Good brutal black metal album from behemoth. The music is intense and very good. This is a good recommandation for anyone looking for a good behemoth release. They're best to date in my opinion, vocals are superb as well.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Behemoth album - very hard stuff
Ok so, Demigod is better than any Nile album released. Now, some Nile songs are better than anything here (Annilation of the Wicked, Sarcophagus, Black Flame, Even the Gods must die, etc) but IMO, Behemoth is overall better than Nile mostly because of all the irritating filler present in most Nile albums.

I would agree with most here that the vocals on this one aren't the best. They just don't stand out. Otherwise - a killer release. Love the title track and the Reign of Shemsu-Hor is ...
