Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good metal, but that's about it
Out of all the metal albums I own, I like this one the least out of all the albums I like. Maybe this is my complete lack of knowledge of the genre, or maybe the fact the whole Melodic death metal thing doesn't appeal to me that much. But no matter what genre it is, even a rank newbie can like stuff like this. Dark Tranquility is a good band and this is a good album, period. Sure, it isn't my favorite and never will be, but what do I care?

You won't find much in this review. Some ...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - SUPER BAND
this is a total big ban purchase .... although is real difficult to see it in my country, I like the skidancer album more than this.....

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Dark Tranquillity = the god of melodic death metal
What can I say about this band. I have six of there cd's and each one is just as good if not better then the last. The Gallery is a very great cd by them and should not be missed if you can get your hands on it. I won't go into much of the songs becasue really I would just be saying what many other people say.

Just pick this CD up and all there other CD's.

Aside from recording quality I can see most of these songs appearing on Character. Guitarwork is tight, and DT is without a doubt my favorite metal band... they don't simply grind ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - "We're the outstretched fingers that seize and hold the wind...."
Ever since I acquired a fetish for melodic death metal, I've looked into a lot of bands that are classified in the genre. Dark Tranquillity was one of them. The Gallery was the first CD I bought by them, and it certainly won't be my last. This album is filled with bone-crushing heaviness, melodic beauty, and mythical lyrics. Above all, it has an atmosphere that is unlike any other metal album I've heard.

I'm glad I didn't review this as soon as I listened to it for the first time, because ...
