Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This Album Is So Good, It's Important
This album will chew you up and spit you out. I've been listening to this CD for months now and it's still fresh. There isn't really anything else like it. Imagine what it would sound like if a couple of Middle Eastern guys invented black metal - not to say that all the guys in this band hail from that region, but you get the point.

What really makes this CD stand out to me (other than the almost exclusive use of Eastern scales and cord patterns) is that Melechesh refuse to do anything ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome
When I first heard this recording, I was stunned and very pleased. In fact, nearly wore out the CD afterward. Then, I loaned it to someone, foolishly, and never got it back. So, I will be buying this one again. What a fine work. The mood is captivating. The guitars compliment the exotic rhythms. So, someone has finally added a new and creative sound to the Black Metal genre. Instead of the sometimes boring and repetitive sounds of traditional Black metal, these guys are really talented. I cannot ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Blackened Sumerian Swing
One of the best black metal albums ever. The middle-eastern influence on strings and the Mesopotamian lyrical themes set Melechesh apart from your standard metal band; their fist-pumping, head-snapping, metal-frown-inducing grooves put them three cuts above. "Emissaries" is required listening for any metalhead worth his or her salt.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Ushouldownofcourseyoudo
This brings a big smile when I hear this. Fun and interesting. It's no wonder Proscriptor and Andy LaRoque click. Melechesh own. Nile comparisons must not be heeded. Melechesh are not that similar. I think Sphinx better still, but this is new in my rotation. Anyway, the music is again an amalgam of Black Metal,Death Metal, & Thrash metal, bound together seamlessly with their Near East influences. Hightly recommended for the EXTREME metal head.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - This is good
I like this CD, but I can't give it five stars... It is a good CD and I am looking forward to hearing some of there other albums.
