I understand that Avantasia is Sammet's side-project from Edguy, and Lost In Space 1 & 2 are some of the songs that didn't make it onto the upcoming Scarecrow CD. I'm prefacing this review to say I enjoyed the Metal Opera (1 & 2) a lot, and Lost In Space didn't leave me disappointed either.

Avantasia Part One and Two from Tobias Sammet, frontman for the German power metal band Edguy, could best be described as two very nice surprises. It's like bad 80's rock.
Like Rhonda said, it follows Edguy's new direction. It lacks everything - the ambition, creativity, story, and talent that made Avantasia's Metal Opera so outstanding.
Track "Story Aint Over" stands out, its maybe worth a buck.

But not what I expected...The last 2 were very epic fantasy power metal...This is like the same direction as newer edguy...Some songs sound like 80s rock and others do have that Epic PM sound...It's very Diff. Not a bad thing though.
