Editorial Review:

Album Description:
1999 debut by hard-edged metal band featuring ex-Death members Chuck Schuldiner and Steve DiGiorgio, along with vocalist Tim Aymar. Compared to Death with cleaner, smoother vocals. Eight tracks.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - damn fine cd but not for my taste
this cd has some great songs and better than par production and great musicins richard christy, steve digorgio, and chuch schidler(rip).death fans may not like it too much but i think it has some very originial musical quilities more commercial sounding, very heavy but it just dosn't settle well as a favorite with me?

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - 85/100, Chuck Schuldiner's progressive metal outfit debuts with quite a bit of success.
The vocalist is great, and reminds me of a strange cross between Bruce Dickinson and Warrel Dane, with a little something else that makes him sound truly unique. He has a great range and can sound pretty darn angry when it fits the music. The drumming is excellent, very precise and technical. The guitar work courtesy of Chuck Schuldiner is fantastic. There's plenty of great thrashy riffs, but he also has some technical stuff here and there and isn't afraid to integrate some Iron Maiden-esque galloping ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Speechless
Great music in the vein of oldschool Heavy Metal. Charles Schuldiner plays guitar on here so I had to check this out.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - WOW
This is a bit of a departure from Chuck's Death days with the tempo changes and all out thrash. The tempo changes are there of course, but the balls to wall Death is missing. This can be seen as a good thing. Fans of Death will find much to appreciate on this album (just look at who is on this 'Supergroup' album ! Digiorgio and Christy. Absolute monsters!
This album is much more in the vein of power or prog metal than death metal and the tempos can be slightly slower than before, but some of Chuck's ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - If your a fan of Death...
Im a huge fan of the band Death, Control Denied is the singers side project. I really enjoyed it, its more melodic than Death, but good nonetheless. So if your a fan of Death, you might want to check this out. I recommend it.
