great record! if you're into your folk metal then you cannot look past this cd! great album by a great band!

This cd is much better than their first go around Ven. I think out of all of thier albums this is my favorite because even though the scottish folk influence is greater, the melodic metal is still going strong. I think this is their most balanced album.

As I stated in my review of Eluvietie's first EP Vên, I have no knowledge of this band's lineup changes so I will note the changes in sound soley on the album alone.
Spirit is one of those albums where you can really hear positive and quality change from a previous release. Everything on this album is much better than on Vên and you can definatley see that Eluvietie has found their sound!
On this release the folk elements actually fit right into the music without sounding ...

my 1st Eluveitie cd was Slania. and it took me really long to buy Spirit. but when Spirit came in, I realized its far more better than Slania. This band is just aswesomely creative with their music style..
