I wasn't familiar with the band Blessed By a Broken Heart prior to this album, but I took a chance on Pedal to the Metal based on the album artwork and the band photo on the back cover. I was hoping for something along the lines of Dirty Penny or Endeverafter - energetic 80's style hard rock. Instead, Blessed By a Broken Heart is essentially a metalcore band that's apparently trying to merge that sound with 80's hair metal. I have been a fan of BBABH since 2004 when they played a show in my home town. I loved their first cd. Havent been buying many cds lately so i missed when they released their new cd in 2008. Just picked it up about a month again. Never thought i would have been disappointed by it....but i was. The cd is nothing like there old stuff. I had to make sure it was even the same band and that it wasnt some old 80s metal band putting out a new cd after years of being off the map. Nope it was the same BBABH ...

If you think this will sound like older blessed by a broken heart think again! While theres still plenty of growling/screaming going on, the clean vocals are very 80s cheese, which can be a good thing some times. On some songs they work very well, but I don't know they are good but could be better on other songs. The guitars however are excellent! Tracks "she wolf" and "show us what you got" are very awesome 80s sounding but also very heavy in parts. The band still shows they're Christian beliefs too, ...

This CD is amazing!
It had been long wait for this CD to come out.
But it was so worth the wait!
BBABH know how to make good music. Every song on this CD is amazing, and you'll find yourself singing the chorus to "Move Your Body" at random points in your day.
I'd consider this one of the best CD's I've ever bought.
I can't get enough of it.

Takes me back to the days of 80's metal. Excellent Vocals,with some screaming added in. A perfect ballance. I am very impressed ,with the vocals,music,the whole package. If your a fan of 80's metal, I highly reccomend this cd. You wont be dissapointed.
