I'd rather rate this album a 4.5, but Amazon doesn't allow it. I don't listen to many metal bands these days, but Intronaut's flat-out amazing. The lyrics are indecipherable and the vocals don't add much, but as an instrumental combo, these guys smoke. This album's worth your time if only to hear bassist Joe Lester and drummer Danny Walker. They're a rhythm section on a par w/ Darin Gray and Blake Fleming of Dazzling Killmen.

I have had Prehistoricisms at work all year, and it is pretty much the only thing I listen to there. I LOVE this band, and this is their best work so far - if you love complex heavy music do yourself a favor and buy it.
Its a bit less conventional than their other albums - a lot of the songs dissolve into complex spacey codas which you will be humming all day. The bass is up loud in the mix, and often plays absolutely bizarre countermelodies against the crunch of the guitars. Drumming ...

Intronaut's album Null changed my life, or at least my views on the future of metal, because that album is incredibly space aged, and not in a gimmicky way, but in a "can't believe they just did that!" way.
But they reached for the sky too soon here on Prehistorisms. A very boringly plotted album with stifled songwriting.
Come again, fellas.

I was a big fan of Intronaut when I first heard their Void album. Prehistoricisms is a great step in the evolution of the band. The songs are a little more technical, and more groove oriented. I wouldn't say it's less "metal", but the riffs might not be as "hard" as their previous work. The rhythm section dominates this album, as they should being that they're so talented. I think the song writing, lyrics, and direction of the album are improvements of past work. At first I wasn't sure about the album, ...

This album makes me excited about modern rock. People keep calling this album extreme metal. While I don't want to argue, I fail to see what makes this extreme. The songs often have pretty riffs and never have overpowering, dirty vocals.
Intronaut is, for the most part, a really pleasant album. I melt every time the string bass pops in for a little grooving. It adds such a gorgeous, peaceful texture!
I wish sundial had been broken up into two songs, but both parts of it are worth listening ...
