Editorial Review:

Album Description:
Death were a black power trio from Detroit who released a single in 1975 and pretty much disappeared after that. Inspired by the raw Rock 'N' Roll of The Stooges and MC5, the three brothers moved away from their Funk/R&B roots into a new realm. ...For The Whole World To See features the two songs from the single ('Keep On Knocking' and 'Politicians In My Eyes') and five other tracks. Drag City. 2009.

Disc 1:
  1. Keep on Knocking
  2. Rock-N-Roll Victim
  3. Let the World Turn
  4. You're a Prisoner
  5. Freakin Out
  6. Where Do We Go from Here???
  7. Politicians in My Eyes

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The missing link
WOW!! This album blew me away. It's like a key piece to an elaborate puzzle. Punks missing link.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - For the Whole World to Hear!
Wow! I am really impressed with this CD. Yeah, it is proto-punk, but also just some great rock and roll. Good song writing, talented musicians, and tight arrangements. I love early Seger, Detroit (w/Mitch), MC5, the Stooges, and all the early Detroit rock and rollers. This fits right in with the best of them. What a shame that these guys did not get a little push and continue recording, just because they wanted to keep their band's name- Clive Davies of Columbia offered them a deal if they changed ...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent
Long before Living Colour, there was Death. They were an Afrian American hard rock band, when this was a white dominated genre.

The main differance between the two is that Death did not intigrate jazz and other African American forms, like soul or jazz, into their work. This is hard rock with punk speed. It is driving and exihilerating, played by excellent musicians--Death was a funk unit before they went hard rock.

If you like hard punky rock, Death is the ticket, no more ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A MUST HAVE PUNK RECORD!!
I'd describe this as a perfect mix between GG Allin and Jimi Hendrix... Straight up protopunk with some great riffs and musical genius... A must have for any 77 rock and roll fan or any punk with a real appreciation for music... There was suppose to be more to the record but the producers stopped recording and terminated the contract because they wouldn't change the name from Death to something more "marketable". And hell nothing is more punk rock then that! There is only a few hundred of the original ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Stunning Proto-Punk from 1975
Stunning proto-punk time capsule from 1975. Unbelievable this never got released before.

You'd swear the Clash stole from these guys. They should've been playing in London with the Ramones in 1976. They were already more developed artistically then the Ramones ever were (brilliant though they were).

They're no one-trick pony either, the guitar solos are excellent, the rhythm section is what you'd expect from a Detroit band in the 60's/70's. They sound the logical successors to ...
