Editorial Review:
Album Description: The epic and grandiose musical landscape of the new God Forbid album proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that this group have paved a new path out from the stagnant metalcore scene and the future looks to be a very bright one. The stunning new effort, Earthsblood, blends together the perfect amount of brutality, melodies and utter catchiness against a wall of sonic excess and pummeling groove-laden riffs.
This is an entirely new God Forbid that have matured beyond their years and are now more focused than ever before. The depth and diversity showcased on this new album is easily going to position them as of one the most innovative bands within the genre.

When I first discovered these guys, I thought they were something special. Over time, I realized they weren't. Sure, their 2004 album 'Gone Forever' had some good tracks, but they never measured up to the rest of the metalcore crop. This new album by them is simply your standard metalcore, nothing special, nothing terrible.

God Forbid just never seem to disappoint. I have beeen a fan since 2004's 'Gone Forever'. All I can say is they are consistent with writing good, raw, and catchy metal. 'Earthsblood' lives up to those expectations, and then some. The CD starts with a bang, and opens with a really great first handful of songs. That doesn't seem to let up until about midway through the album with "the new clear" which is a new approach for the band. It really builds up nicely with some clear vocals, and kicks your ...

God Forbid formed in 2001, but I never heard them until 2003. these guys are the leaders of metalcore. since its introduction in 2003, metalcore has exploded and shows no signs of slowing down. God Forbid is the leaders of the metalcore genre. their sound is a combination of melody and brutality without sounding poppy. also, 2 members of Symphony X and Christian Olde Wolbers of Fear Factory guest star on this album. if you like this band, then you should also get into Terror, Killswitch Engage, Cataract, ...

I'm not even going to pretend that anything that I have to say, hasn't already been said before in one form or another, so I'm going to keep this one short and sweet.
God Forbid has done it again.
Take the brutality of IV: Constitution of Treason, the lyrical kick-assery of Gone Forever, and well... pretty much every good thing from all of their albums. Now crank it up by a factor of a hundred million, pick one, and you've pretty much got Earthsblood in a nutshell.

Awesome record... very complex, perfectly performed and not easy to digest (which is good!). These guys know what they are doing, and do not follow mainstream formulas.
I can not say this is better than Constitution... it's just a another excellent album.
