Editorial Review:
Album Description: The world is eagerly awaiting the triumphant return of one of the biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal, 3 Inches Of Blood, Whose new album has been a few years in the making. Thoughout the new album, Here Waits Thy Doom the group demonstrates that the best way to stay ahead of the Heavy metal curve is to write music with force and feeling, that comes from the heart. Only then will a band truly make a statement that separates them from the masses of followers. With the new album, 3 Inches of Blood declare their originality with a ferocious battle cry.
Album Description: 2009 album from the Canadian Metal band, a triumphant return as one of the biggest defenders of traditional Heavy Metal. Here Waits Thy Doom demonstrates that the best way to stay ahead of the Heavy Metal curve is to write music that comes from the heart and sounds nothing like the horde of bands tapping into the latest trends. To that end, they draw fuel from their favorite artists, including Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, UFO and Rainbow and compile it all into their own deadly potion. The album was tracked in Seattle's Sound House Recordings with renowned producer Jack Endino (Soundgarden) and is being hailed as the gospel of all things heavy.

Although utilizing a totally different sound as compared to the fan favorite Advance and Vanquish, Here Waits Thy Doom is 3 Inches of Blood's most refined, carefully constructed, and fully realized album to date. The band has changed significantly since Advance (in fact, all of the original members are gone). This will not go unnoticed, nor should it. While the old lineup made up a very solid metal band, the 3 Inches of Blood on this new album is far more resourceful, knowledgeable (regarding ...

I think i share a lot of the same opinions of the other poor reviews.Fist of i love seeing them live they are great and always welcome in houston, I love the last albums I ven recommended them to people. Fire u the blades was in my cd player/ ipod for months to a year and still is. I was so exited when i saw this on the shelf, i didnt know there was a new one. I was ready to bang my head and have a good ol metal time, but what happened next wasn't metal at all...First i had a confused look on my ...

....this album is good and all but it just ain't the pure fire-metal that the previous efforts have been. hooper brought that extra edge to this band that i think, especially now that i've heard this album, set them apart from other run of the mill metal bands. 'Blades' was the first album i heard from these guys and it blew me the hell away. 'Battlecry' is next for me, and this one unfortunately is fourth. dang...

With the loss of Jamie Hooper due to vocal troubles and getting on a new label, 3 Inches of Blood basically play it safe with this album. Here Awaits Thy Doom is essentially a stripped down version of the band, dropping the thrash/speed metal influence and sticking to strait up heavy metal.
However although it lacks the speed and genre-jumping creativity of Advance & Vanquish and Fire Up the Blades, I can't bad mouth this album. Simply put it's addictive as hell. I find it impossible ...

With much of the original cast missing they've certainly devolved from power-core to run of the mill rock and roll. I think most 3IOB fans will call this "The Side Project". Aside from a few songs much of the album is pretty boring. Recommend doing a listen and see if you really want the whole thing or just the good songs. The production quality is lower than normal on this one, no sound effects, no epic story arcs, no album theme. Naturally anything Cam Pipes touches instantly hogs my playlist, ...
